Catch up

I do not even know where to start, I'm so long over due for an update. I really miss having this blog and being able to look back on things. Facebook and Instagram are just not the same. Olivia and Jonah had their 2 year check up and I was curious what Jake and Nathan's stats were at 2 and all I had to do was look back on this blog and there it was. I have every excuse why I have not kept up with this but I will give a shot.

Jonah and Olivia at 2!
They celebrated there 2nd birthday at little gym on the actual birthday of April 3rd. It was a very fun day  filled with family and friends.

Olivia
27 pounds (58 percentile, she like to eat)
33 inches (30th percentile, not sure this was accurate, I think she is taller)

Shoes size: 5-5.5
diapers size: 5
clothes: dressed and pants 2, most tops 3

Olivia use to eat anything, while she still enjoys eating and snacking she has gotten much picker. Her favorite foods and cheese, noodles with cheese and fruit. Pretty much all veggies are rejected and she is not a big meat eater.

She is still the dominate twin. She is a very happy baby but can very pushy with Jonah and other kids.  She is very opinionated  and lets you clearly know what she wants. We argue daily about shoe choices. Can't wait to see what she is like as a teenager. This is new to me the boys pretty much could care less about clothes and shoes. She is starting to use 2 words phase. She is starting to enjoy playing with babies and strollers. She loves to color and do her homework with the big boys.

She is very outgoing and will go to pretty much anyone. If she done with you she will staring waving and saying bye to dismiss you. No, is her favorite word!  She is a very good sleeper but requires less sleep than Jonah.

Her iPad is her favorite toy! She loves Elmo and Barney.

Jonah
24.5 pounds (17th percentile he would rather play than eat)
31 inches (1st percentile, he would not stand still he is taller than this but not as tall as Olivia)

Shoes size: 5.5-6
diapers size: 5 (only because she needs the 5 and it's easier to have them in the same size)
clothes: tops 18-24 starting to wear a few 2s, pants 18-24

Jonah is a little cuddle bug, he loves to snuggle in my lap. He is more timid and shy than Olivia it takes him a little longer to warm up in new surrounding. Jonah is a monkey and really thinks he is a big boy.  Daily battles with him are over he still needs a sippy cup and booster seat. He wants what ever Jake and  Nathan have.  He has a hard time dealing with NO. But what 2 year-old handles it well. He speech is language is contenting to grow. She still talks more but he is catching up.

Jonah's favorite food are hot dogs, he would eat them 3 meals a day if I would let him. He is much picker and tosses anything he does not like on the floor. He eats like Jake did at this age. He is not much of a milk drinker and would rather play than eat. He loves to be outside.

Jonah is an amazing sleeper and pretty has always been. This kid needs his naps! They still share a room, they do well with it, Olivia usually does not keep Jonah up. It is adorable when they are in their cribs having their own little conversation. Both love their Aden and Anis blankets to sleep with.

To say life is crazy is an understatement but I would not have it any other way! This is what I have time for today.

Olivia and Jonah are 9 months old!!

Life is just crazy these days, but I wanted to take a minute and update how well the babies are both doing. Today the babies had their 9 month well check. They are pretty much all caught up at his point for being a month early. Which was great news to hear.
Olivia was 17 pounds 6 ounces 27 inches (25-50th percentile)
Jonah was 18 pounds 8 ounces 27.5 inches (25-50th percentile)
It crazy to believe when they were born they were just under 5 pounds!
They are on the move! Not full on crawling but it could be any day. They both roll 90 miles an hour and scoot to get places. Olivia has starting to pull up and can get into a sitting position and Jonah is not far behind. We are working on adding a third meal along with 3-4 bottles of formula a day. Jonah likes to be spoon feed and is not as into trying new things while Olivia likes what ever we give her and prefers to feed herself. I feel like all I do is feed babies!!
Sleep well, I feel like I will never sleep well again. It seems like someone is always up! Jonah is rockstar and can sleep thru all of Olivia's silliness. Olivia just requires less sleep than anyone else in this house. She is doing better and has been sleep trained but frequently is up for what ever reason she sees fit.
They might share a birthday but this about it, they could not be more different in personalities. Jonah has mastered holding his own bottle so he can get faster service while Olivia demands you hold it for her. As crazy as our lives are right now, I could not imagine it any other way.

3 months

I have not posted since the babies turned two months. It has been a crazy month, Jake finished first grade and Nathan finished 4 year-old preschool. The week that school was ending for the boys Olivia ended up in the hospital for 48 hours with a fever of unknown origin. Which meant a full work up including a spinal tap! Luckily it was determined to just be a virus. Her doctor wanted to to be extra cautious due to her age. Big boys are in camp all summer and having a blast!

Babies are getting so big and are changing everyday. Jonah is really getting chubby! They are both sleeping pretty well, usually just up once for a quick bottle and back to bed. Since they are sleeping so much better meant it was time to say good-bye to Stella out night nanny. We were so lucky to have had her for 3 months. It is going to be an adjustment for all of us not having her here. Jonah continues to be our chill baby and while Olivia is much busier and always like to be moving. Luckily overall they are very good babies. Many morning Jake wakes up very early, he will come in to our room grab an ipad or phone and then go hang out in the babies room until we are up. Nathan is my little helper and always wants to hold time. Olivia's reflux is under much better control. Both are in size 1 diapers and 0-3 clothes. Some of the 0-3 is getting small on Jonah. That is all for this update Olivia is up from her nap and wanted a bottle.

2 months!

Time is flying like crazy. Jonah and Olivia are 2 months old!! They had a great check up with the Dr Nzoma, she said they are looking great. Jonah was 9 pounds 5 ounces, 21 inches, Olivia was 8 pounds 12 ounces and 21 inches too. They are still weaning newborn clothes and diapers. We started Olivia on reflux meds and changed her formula to Alimentum and she seems much more comfortable and is not fighting her bottle.  They are still so little but have grown so much. Hopefully in the next few weeks they will start smiling and tracking objects.

Mother's day brunch

Nathan's class hosted a Mother's Day brunch this morning. He was so proud of the jewelry tray and necklace he made me. The kids also made a lovely spread of food. It was a very special morning with Nathan.

play mat fun

Time to start bringing out the toys now that they are 5 weeks and starting to be a little more awake.

1 month well check

Olivia and Jonah had their one month check up this morning. It went great, both babies are doing very well. Olivia now weighs 6 pounds 12 ounces and Jonah was 6 pounds 14 ounces. They each gained two pounds in just over two weeks! Both were 19.25 inches they were 18 inches at birth. They no longer need the high calorie preemie formula either. Both had to get a hepatitis B shot. Olivia has started to have her days and nights a little confused hopefully this not last long, and Jonah continues to sleep well at night.
