Well, we were to suppose to have a playgroup here today but that did not go as planned. David was not feeling well this morning and stayed home from work. So instead of playgroup here we went to the mall. And boy did I need to get out of the house with a sick husband and all. Next week grandma and grandpa Rosenthal are staying with us when there floors are getting redone. I am so excited to have built in babysitters for the week!

Growth Spurt
After story time, Jake had his 9 month check up. The doctor was impressed with all of his talking and social interaction:) I wonder where he gets that from...
So in two weeks he has gained almost a pound Jake now weighs 18 pounds 7 ounces (10-25 percentile) and is 29 inches (75 percentile)! I guess it is about time to switch car seats.
Not too much more to report. I need to continue to give him more table food. They still not not want to probe his eye. The doctor thinks it should resolve itself in the next few months, and it is better to wait till he is a little older if we have to do anything about. It is crazy to think that at his next appointment I will have a 1-year-old!

Happy 9 Months Jake!
Why is it that when I try to get some good picture I fail miserably? So more 9 months picture to come...
This week Jake stated many new foods. We have tried yogurt, Cheerios, chicken, and mushroom barley soup. So far so good. His willingness to accept new foods is getting so much better. He is working on feeding himself. He thinks puffs and Cheerios and fun to toss of the floor. Funny when everything else go in his mouth.
I am still convinced Jake will never crawl. He is getting very good at standing and makes it clear that is what he wants to do. He is getting closer to pulling himself up and the best part he moved to one toy standing to another all by himself!
Jake is a busy boy these days he goes to story time at the library, Kindermusik and play groups. He loves to be out and about. This week was quiet for us since most of Jake's friends are sick:( I would like to start him in swim classes soon.

All is well
Jake had his worst night of sleep ever. He had us convinced he had an ear infection. He woke up at 2:30 screaming and did not go back to sleep till 6! We felt so bad for him, nothing we were doing would calm him down. When he woke up at 9 he seemed much better but we thought we better check it out. Better safe than sorry and did not want a repeat of last night!
The good new is no ear infection. The doctor thinks it was just his teeth, she thinks he has three coming in at once and to give him Tylenol to help him sleep. He goes back in two weeks for his 9 month appointment. His stats for today were 17 pounds 10 ounces (19th percentile) and 28.25 inches tall (75 percentile). This was his first official appointment at with the new pediatrician and so far they are so much better and did not make me feel silly for taking him in.

Family Day
Today we went to Birch Run to do a little shopping, at dinner Jake showed off his excellent restaurant behavior. He has made huge improvements in this department. Jake was great the entire day. He slept the whole way there and home. Since he was so good on our short road trip we are thinking about driving to Chicago for David's birthday in March.

Jake's Kitty Cat
If you were to ask Jake what his favorite toy was he would say Murphy. I was not thrilled with the idea of getting another cat, but David really wanted him so I went along with it. Well Jake and Murphy have become best friends. Murphy loves to sleep in Jake's crib and on his changing table. They are so patient with each other. Jake just needs to learn to be gentle.

It's a boy
It was one year ago today that I found out that Jake was going to be a boy. At first I was really not quit sure what to think. Now a year later I would not change a thing. I have to admit having another little boy would not be so bad.
