about time some would say

It was just a trim I promise...this was so hard for me to do, I loved Jake's curls! But after seeing the 12 months pictures I realized that action had taken. Jake had a busy day, he went to Mini Macs this morning then he had his pictures taken and then I took him for his hair cut. If I did not take him right away I would have changed my mind.

12 month check up

Stats:
19.8 pounds (5th-10th percentile)
31 inches (75th-90th percentile)

Jake can now switch to whole milk, so far he is not a fan and I have to work on introducing more table food. He only had two shots today which was not to bad. He goes back at 15 months for his next check up.

time to party

The party was a blast! Jake was in a good mood and loved playing with all of his friends and family. I was able to get him to nap from 9:30 till 11. He was up just in time for his guest to arrive. I did not get that many pictures I was so busy running around. He was not sure what to do with his cupcake. He was a little overwhelmed by everyone singing him happy birthday. I still can not believe that my little man is ONE! What a special year this has been we are so grateful to have spent this day with all of our family and friends.

unofficial official birthday party

Jake was so excited to celebrate his actual birthday will all of his friends. When he woke up from his nap they were all there waiting for him. Jake only slept thru the first hour! He was not sure what to think about the cake. Today was a practice run, he will have another chance on Sunday.

Well this is it...tomorrow starts a weekend of birthday celebration. All day I have been thinking about how this year has just flown by. I can remember exactly what I did the day before Jake was born. I had absolutely no idea he would be making his appearance is such a short time. We love you little man!

mini macs

Jake started a new class today, it was tons of fun, Jake's friend Kamran is also in the class. The mini macs class is combination of music and getting to play with all kind of cool toys. This class is sure to be a hit! It was so cute at the end the all sang happy birthday to Jake!

moving on up

We moved Jake in to his big car seat this weekend, even though technically he sit fits in the infant carrier I thought it was about time not to mention he was just to heavy to carry that thing around!

weekend fun

It is such a nice to change to be able to get outside and be in the fresh air. Jake loves the outdoors. We had a busy weekend, most of the running around had to do with getting ready for Jake's birthday party!

luke's 1st birthday party

Today we went to Luke's birthday party, Jake had tons of fun playing with all of Luke's cool toys and playing with all of his friends. Here you can see Brady giving Jake a ride in Luke's truck. A week from today Jake turns one!

The joys of teething...excessive amounts of droll, horrible diaper rash, and trying to chew an anything and everything (more so then normal) yet Jake is still a happy guy.

it is really coming

Jake is going to be turning one in just 12 short days. Thursday a package arrived from aunt Barbara in California then yesterday Sue Penn sent a gift with grandma. Impatient me let Jake open the gift from Sue. Having presents arrive is making this seem so real!

zoo

I thought I had it all planned out. Jake woke up from his morning nap feed him lunch and off we went. He was super chatty in the car but as soon as we walked thru the gates Jake decided he has his own plan of sleeping thru the zoo. Oh well, we bought a season pass so we will be sure to go back soon. Hopefully then Jake can experience the zoo.

playdate at Kamran's

We always look forward to our play dates! Jake loves to check out all the new cool toys and play with his friends. I am using major self control right now not to buy Jake some of the really neat toys Kamran has. I will not buy Jake anything until after his birthday. After all we all know how deprived this child is.

eating is hard work

This is a first... I knew Jake was beyond tired....he has only slept 35 minutes all day...I gave him a snack at 5:30 while I unloaded the dishwasher...my back was turned for less than 5 minutes and this was how I found him.

first walk of the season

After a fun afternoon at Kamran's I thought for sure Jake would be wiped out. Come home put him in his crib and he screamed for 30 minutes, so I gave up and decided to go far a walk. Jake still did not sleep in the stroller, but atleast he was no longer screaming. It felt so great to be out in the fresh air.

Jungle Java

Our playgroup today was at Jungle Java, for those of you who are not familiar with it, it is a coffee shop with play structures for the kiddos. Jake and his buddies were a little young for most of it but they did enjoy cruising around and it was great for the moms to chat.
