school pictures

Getting Jake to try to be still for a pictures these days is hard work! I can't wait to see the real ones, but here is the preview that grandma requested. It made my day when Jake's teacher said he is always the best dressed boy:)

cider mill

We are trying to do as much as we can in the next few weeks knowing that things are about to change around here, so we headed to the Franklin cider mill again. Jake has been talking about the water wheel since the last time were there. Of course feeding the ducks is great fun too. And, what is a trip to the cider mill without cider and donuts. What a great time of the year to be pregnant, I do not feel at all guilty for indulging.

On a side note this is point and shoot camera number three and I think I finally found a winner!

like daddy

David left a tie in the kitchen, Jake decided he wanted to go to work and wear a tie just like daddy.

2 1/2

Jake turned 2 1/2 on Saturday!

I think it really starting to hit me that our time as a family of three is ending. I think maybe Jake is starting to get it a little that a baby is coming to live with us. We have been slowly bringing out some of the baby stuff and he tells me that is for the baby. We raised his crib mattress and he told us that it was for the baby, I guess we shall see. At the same time he has been very clingy and really needing me.

Jake is sleeping great in his new room. He is doing excellent at school and is learning so much. He is starting to be able to tell me what he did at school, he loves to tell me about his day. His memory amazes me at times. He has a very strong opinion about what he likes and dislikes. He is very into singing songs and tell us which song to sing and which book to read...hence the bossy trend. He also also mastered the art of stalling. He is at such a fun age to do things with.

playgroup

We were suppose to go to the Zoo Boo, but the weather was to rainy and cold. So it turned into pizza night here. The kids had a great time playing and the mom were able to catch-up. Our playgroups have not been the same since Kendra went back to work:(
So here is the attempt to get 4 toddlers to sit still for a pictures.

zoo boo take 1

Jake was very excited for Zoo Boo this year and the treats he was told he would get. The weather was much better this year and it was so much busier! Jake had a blast and that is what matters. We are going back and Friday and I hope it is not as busy.

curious george LIVE

We went to see Curious George at the Fox Theater this morning. It was a great show! We has fabulous seats and I am that really helped. Jake was very into the show and sat very well. I am sure the new light toy he got helped too. It was very cool to watch the expression on his face as his favorite monkey came to life. (hopefully more pictures to come from Shauna's camera)

franklin cider mill

All we had to do was tell Jake he was going to feed the ducks and he was ready to go! The highlight of the day for Jake was the huge water wheel. He could have watched it go around all day long. I had to bribe him with a donut to get him away for the water wheel.

weekend update

Well as many of you know this was the weekend that Jake made his full transition to his new big boy room and bed. Prior to Friday night he has only napped in his new big bed. I was nervous for Friday night. When I put him down for his nap on Friday afternoon it was a little bitter sweet knowing this would be the last time Jake slept in his crib. After his nap I took everything out of the crib and striped the mattress...there was no going back!

We did our normal routine in the new bed, closed the door and watched him on the monitor I very happy to report he fussed for three minute, then curled up and went to bed. I was worried that he would wake up scared in the middle of the night, but no, he slept till 7:30 then talked and played happily till 8! David and I were both shocked. The rest of the weekend went great going down with little to no fussing and sleeping like a champ. (I am knocking on wood as I type this) The transition went much better than I thought it would go. I think it helped that we have been playing in that room alot and he helped me but his book and stuff in there. The only hard thing has been he wants to be rocked, I have closed the nursery off and he does not get why we can't go in there right now to rock. But he has handled it like a champ and we just read books in his new bed.

I need to get a picture, it's just hard to figure out the logistics.

Now it time to focus on getting the nursery ready! Only six more weeks give or take.

another new camera

So I am determined to find a new little point and shoot camera. I love my big camera but, it is such a pain to carry around. The good news is the one I got today seems better. The last one got returned. I need to play around with it more but so far it is a better start. Anyone have a point and shoot they would recommend?
