more from Tawas
We had such a great long weekend in Tawas we are already planning next year. Our days pretty much consisted of hanging out at the beach. The boys had such a great time playing together. We lucked out and had beyond amazing beach weather. Nathan was challenging in the since all he wanted to do was eat sand, and anything he could pick out of the sand. A mobile 9 month old in a non baby proofed house was very fun, he was always getting in to something. Luckily there we lots of eyes to help keep him out of trouble.

Jake's regular pediatrician refereed us to see a physiatrist, today we went to meet with Dr. Alpiner, this is the first doctor that did brush off his drool and agreed with me that a 3 year-old should not be still drooling. He think some occupational therapy should be able to help strengthen the mouth muscles. You would think they would be strong from all his chatting. The good news is that all of his other muscles are in the normal range. I know the drooling bothers me more than anything, but his teachers have asked about it too. Dr. Alpiner also that it might also have something to do with his sinuses.
gearing up
After Jake went to the doctor we stopped at the soccer store, another flash to my childhood, because is where I went to get all of my soccer gear too. They outfitted Jake with a home and away jersey, cleats and shin gaurds. He looked so cute if I do say so myself. Jake is going to be number 24. He is very excited to play soccer this fall.

ice cream camp
Jake has ice cream camp this week with is buddies Marianna and Brady. Jake loved the idea of ice cream camp but this morning he was a little nervous for me to drop him off, he kept asking if I could stay. I was a little nervous too. But he did great, not a tear was shed! I'm so proud of Jake he has come such a long way from the start of camp last year. What is not to like about ice cream all week!

9 months
weight: 16 pounds 13 ounces (5th percentile)
height: 27.75 inches (50th percentile)
Nathan is still our little peanut, he is about the size a 6 month old. He can still wear 3-6 month stuff and 6-12 shirts. He has only outgrown about two 3-6 things. He is still weaning a size 2 diaper. He continues to be such a happy little guy. He sleeps great, (knocking on wood as I type this) usually 11-12 hours at night and then 2, 1-2 hours naps. He only wants to nap in is crib. Food wise we are continuing to offer more and more table food. He still gets some baby food but mostly when we are out and it just more convenient. He loves to feed himself and the best part is he will eat what ever I put in front of him! I love that is not a picky eater. Jake was picky for the day he started solids. So far there is nothing he will not eat. In the past month he has gotten several more teeth, for a total of 6 and I think two more bottom ones are about to start to come thru.
He still has the umbilical hernia, we think it might have a little bigger so we scheduled an appointment with a pediatric surgeon for September 2nd. His doctor suggested this at his 9 month appointment. I know there is chance it could close on its own, but it is not looking that way and I would rather have it fixed now then when he is older and would be more traumatic for him.
He is all over the place and in to everything is such a very curious guy. It seems like he has been here for ever and that same time it's crazy to think he 9 months already.

visting the Dillmans
The boys had a great time visiting with everyone. Nathan even got very in to trying to feed the horses. He held on to a carrot for very long time. He was squealing with delight. After the barn we went with the Schaldenbrands for a very yummy dinner at the Highland House. I still miss having a horse some days. But I love that I get to share my love of horses with my boys.
