underwear

Nathan had been showing signs of potty training for months. He pretty much refuses to wear a diaper and only wants a pull-up. Truth be told I have just been not ready to deal with it. He is not even 2 1/2 could he really be ready?  This is our first time wearing big boy underwear. By now means am we doing this full force by we are taking baby steps to being diaper free.

havdalah

Monday morning the parents were invited to watch the 4-year-olds do their havdalah services.  Basically it was a few songs that welcome the in new week.

pine creek

Jake asked all the time to go feed the horses and visit with Tyler and Norah. It worked out last minute to head out there for a visit this morning. We stopped on our way to pick up carrots for the horses, the boys kept asking are we there yet, the entire 40 minute drive. Nathan thought he wanted to feed the horses but as soon as he was in the barn with them he was very nervous and wanted to stay back. How is this my child?? I'm little nervous how he is going to be at Jake's farm party.  Jake on the other hand was so excited! Today he even got to help groom Mortin.  Nathan was super clingy so I was not able to take many pictures.

kensington petting farm

We took our first trip to the petting farm of the season. Nathan is not an animal lover so far, he likes them but he does not want to touch them.  We had a wonderful family morning at the petting farm. We got to see baby sheep, pigs and goats that were only a few days old!

Brennan's first birthday party

Sunday we  helped Brennan celebrate her first birthday. I can't believe she is a year already.  Jill from Music Together came to do music with the kids. She was a huge hit, both boys were really into it.  Jake got to play with an old friend from our Beaumont parenting group. Lily's mom was a co-leader of my group and she went on the lead Stacy's (Brennan's mom) group.

shorts in march?!?

This weather is unbelievable!! I can't my kids are wearing shorts and sandals in March.  My shopping addiction is a good thing at times, we are always prepared.

zoo!!

We headed to the zoo Friday morning with Sara, Macy and baby Lilah.  We did not think the new carousel would be open this early in the season, we were surprised when we heard the music playing. We opened the zoo so Nathan and Macy and the first ride of the day. I think it was a highlight for both. Nathan loved running thru the polar bear exhibit but overall preferred to see the animals form the stroller.

pj library

I had to force the kids to come inside to get ready for pj library, I amost said forget it since it was so nice out and they were playing so nicely.  After a quick dinner and bath they were ready to heard back to school in the jammies. First they worked on an art project of decortaing flowers for spring. Then it was stroy time and finally it was time for the bed time snack. Jake had a great time running around with Caleb, Nathan just wanted to follow the bigs guys around. Pj library is always such a fun event I wish they had them more often.

cooking class

Just as we were ready to walk out the door to take Jake to school Monday morning we got a call that Hillel was closed because they had no power! Jake was thrilled that he was going to tag along to Nathan's cooking class. Jake was a great helper and Nathan loved showing Jake what to do. I forgot to take my camera in to the room where we do the actual cooking. Here are the boys enjoying the music part of the class while their oatmeal jam bars were cooking.
