growing up

Nathan has been having a harder time going to sleep at night.  He is trying every stall tactic he can think off. David and I finding it very annoying to deal with. Last night Nathan asked to sleep with Jake and Jake thought it was a great idea. We put the bed rails back up and said why not. Well after over an hour talking and silliness Nathan asked to be put back in his bed. I think Nathan's days in the crib could be limited. 

playgroup reunion

Kendra hosted a little Beaumont baby playgroup reunion. Sunita, Kamran and Ari were in town for a visit. The kids had a great time playing! It was so nice to catch up,

We helped Conner celebrate his 5th birthday at Troy Gymnastics.  It was a great party, the boys had a blast bouncing on the huge trampoline and doing obstacle courses.

nathan-tooth update

What is it with my kids and their teeth? The good news is Nathan's front tooth is looking much less grey. At this point if you did not know what it looked like a few weeks ago you would never know. Still crossing our fingers that it does not abscess.

This weather has been so crazy, it was too cool this morning to go to the pool. We ended up at Inglenook park, it was so nice to be out at a park. Since it has been so hot we have not had many park days.

I found these very funny so I thought I would share.

Every time I pick just up from camp he is just famished! I have learned to have several snacks in the car waiting for him. I was shocked how much he would eat. One day I said did you not eat your lunch? His reply was I threw away anything I could not open easily so I ate a box of raisins.  (meaning he threw out a turkey lunchable, cereal bar, mini muffins and a yogurt!!)  No wonder that kid was starving by 3:30!! I kept packing more and more food in his lunch since he was so hungry. I was like why don't you ask you counselors to open stuff for you?? Needless to stay I had a little chat with his counselor. Now he wants me to open things and put them in ziplocks because he can open them easily.
Really Jake???

Jake lost his first bottom tooth almost two months ago, in the last month of so the other front bottom tooth has gotten very wiggly. I knew it was just days from coming out.  Jake is not as excited as some kids to loose teeth because of the whole missing front teeth debacle. I noticed this morning that he had lost the bottom tooth. I asked him when and why had you not told me. He said he lost it Tuesday night at Elan's birthday party. He did not want to stop playing with  his friends so he just threw it in the sand!! Guess the tooth fairy does not have to come this time. This kids need to stop loosing teeth!!

We were suppose to go to Greenfield Village but got rained out so we headed back to Detroit Kid City.   The place was packed but the boys still managed to have a time. 

elan's beach party

Elan had his 5th birthday party at Walnut Lake. The boys had a great time playing all night long. This was the first time I was a little sad that Jake will not be with any of these boys in the fall. He was so excited to play with some of his friends that he has not seen since school has been out.

A few weeks ago the amazing Kelly Rama took pictures for my mom's birthday. My mom was excited that my sister would be in town and really wanted to get pictures of all us not just Jake and Nathan. Kelly sent over a few pictures a teaser. I can't wait to see the rest!!

I love that Nathan's camp posts picutes of the kids almost everyday. It's so nice to get a sneak peak into what he is doing.

Katie was in town from Chicago which meant a trip to visit the barn and lunch at Highland House.  The boys always have fun hanging out with Tyler and Norah.

This morning we meet up with Enzo, Kendra and Ava at Detroit Kid City. This is the first time that Jake had been there. The boys had a blast playing in the barber shop, recording studio and pizzeria. We are looking forward to going back soon.
