celebrating jake

Jake has been planing his 6th birthday party since the day after he turned 5! After taking karate classes he knew this is what he wanted to do for his party. The Sport Club did a wonderful job taking care of all the details. Jake was so excited the big day and finally arrived. He could not wait to celebrate with his friends!!

jake at 6

Jake at 6 years old

Weight - 42.6lbs 25th percentile (he gained 3 pounds in the last year)

Height - 46.5" 75th percentile (he grew 2.75 inches in the last year)

Shoe Size - 11ish (depending on the brand)

Clothing size - 6 or x-small in pants, some 5's still fit. Shirts he is a 6 or a small. He is still not a fan of wearing jeans

Schedule:
Bedtime: Bath is still around 7pm, followed by about 20 minutes of reading he has to read one book to us. Depending on who puts him to bed we are usually out of his room by 8-8:15.
Wake: He rarely sleeps past 7:15am. He is usually in our room a few mintues before 7. He is not a morning person, but he is a great sleeper!

What he wants to be when he grows up: Teacher and pharmacist

Fun Facts:
- He loves building legos with daddy.
- LOVES video games!- He is great at working on puzzles.
- Is reading independently
- Is getting more in to learning, but still would rather play.
- Is very social, can talk to anyone!!
- Still swimming at Goldfish, but we will take a break for the summer
- Takes a yoga class on Sundays with grandpa.
- He never stops talking!!
-Has lost 8 teeth!! Two adults teeth are in.

6th birthday at school

My sister worked it out to fly in from Washington DC to surprise Jake at school for his birthday. My parents also decided to join in on the surpirse! Jake requested cupcakes and juice boxes for his special treat at school. I had to go pick up Nathan at school, but my parents and sister wanted to Jake out to lunch but he said no that he wanted to eat with his friends at school! He is getting so grown up!

birthday morning

We started the day of bright and early, today that was a good thing!! We were able to celebrate with David before he had to rush off to work early, so he can be done early to go to tball tonight. The new Transformers he opened were a huge hit!! My sister in flying in to surprise Jake and is helping me bring his cupcakes to school. The my parents and sister are going to take him out to lunch!! I hope he likes all of the surpirses yet to come!!

birthday eve

Jake remembered last year I decorated his room on his birthday. He as been asking over the last few weeks what I was going to do this year. Since the balloons were such a hit, and I'm not super creative I decided to just go with that. He was SO excited and it took it much longer to fall asleep last night. Finally he was out and David and I put the balloons in his room and a few presents on his dresser. He woke up bright and early and has happy could be that his room was decorated and just wanted to know when we did this and how we got the balloons when he was sleeping??? He is at such a fun age!

tball opening day

We braved the freezing cold weather and headed out to Jake's opening tball day. He is on the Kelly Green Team, Jake is excited that several friends from his class on his team. Today was just pictures, meeting his team and bunch of other activities that we were too cold to stay for. His first practice is on Wednesday.
