first trip to l&d and er

Friday afternoon I put Jake down for his nap and was doing a few things around the house. I went out in to the garage and the next thing I know I was on the ground. Some how when I went down the one step, I stepped on a pop car and twisted my ankle and fell on concrete. I somehow got myself in to the house and called my OB who sent me to Beaumont. I though I had broken my ankle and there was no way I could drive. My parents came, my mom drove me to the hospital and my dad stayed with Jake. David meet us there. It as crazy to be back in L&D it brought back all the feelings of being in labor with Jake. They took me back right away and hooked me up to the monitors. I was not contracting or bleeding so that was a good sign. I had to be monitored in L&D for four hours to rule out a placenta abruption. Luckily the baby is fine...I was not ready for a 27 week baby. My ankle on the other hand is not. After many xrays later, I have a torn/strained ligament. They could not tell for sure with out a CT scan and they will not do that when you are pregnant. The good thing is that it is not broken and I am already starting to feeling better. Being on crutches is not easy. Jake is having a hard time understanding that I can not pick him up right now. He only wants me... I guess this part is a preview of things to come when the baby here. Tuesday when the bandage comes off I will be able to drive, then I will be in an aircast for while. What a way to start the third trimester.
