I am starting to get use to the new missing tooth look. It just makes him look so much older. Jake did better this time getting pictures taken, it just required major bribery. (a new toy and ice cream after dinner)

It is still hard for me to believe that Nathan is one! He was such a good boy getting his pictures taken. He is such a smiley happy little guy he made the photographers work pretty easy for once.

Poor Jake...this kid has just had a rought few weeks. I'm not even sure exaclty what happened. Lets hope it's better by Sunday we are having more family pictures taken.

around the house

We have a few days of not much going around, which is really strange for us. The boys are really starting to play more with each other. Nathan wants to be Jake's Shadow. Jake is not thrilled that his brother is always in his space messing with his toys.

Nathan's circus party

I'm a little sad the party is over. It seemed like everyone had a great time. Pebbles the clown was a huge hit! Nathan was such a good boy he loved all of the attention. Jake was a great helper at opening present, Nathan only wanted to tear paper. Nathan was a very lucky boy he received many wonder gifts. Jake however has taken over most of them. It is still crazy to me that he is one.

Originally I really did not want to have Nathan's party at home, but I could not find the right place. I'm so glad that it worked out to have it at our house. I got a little carried away and was very ambitious when I decided he was going to have a circus party, especially since I am not the most crafty person. I could not be happier with how everything turned out and many thanks to some great friends who helped make the banner and other decorations and setting up on Saturday night.

new look

Jake took on nasty fall on Saturday and knocked a tooth out. After an emergency trip to the denitst we found out nothing really can be done to save a baby tooth. On the hand it was a good thing it was only a baby tooth. The other front tooth is really loose so lets cross our fingers that one ok. We have to follow up with an oral surgeon this week to make sure the root of the other tooth is ok. Jake does not seem to be any pain and does not want to tooth fairy to come for a visit at this point. He is very happy that he is getting alot of ice cream since he not suppose to eat any hard foods for a few days.

This is Jake's 3 year pre-school picture. He looks so grown up to me here. I'm impressed that he is smiling and looking at the camera.

12 months

We had an interesting one year appointment, he weighted in at 20 pounds even (10-25th percentile) and was 29 inches (25-50th percentile) his doctor was thrilled that has moved up in the weight charts. I had no doubt the way he has been eating. We really only got as far as that. When she looked in his ears she saw fluid in both and then his nose looked red inside, so after she cultured it she found bacteria. We had no idea anything was wrong and the little guy was not feeling well. He had a runny nose last week but that was it. He is now on antibiotics for 10 days and we go back in two week to finish the appointment.

Taking these pictures was the most challenging yet...he just did not want to sit still, which is the story of our life. Nathan is stating to wear 12-18 months shirts but still in 6-12 pants. He is in a size 3 diaper. He is not walking yet, but we think it could happen at any day. He is very chatty and says hi, dada, kitty, dog, and eat. He is a great sleeper, he takes two naps a day and then sleeps about 12 hours at night. He is such a wiggle worm and he does not ever want to be still. His favorite toy is my blackberry, the cat is a close second. Nathan now has eight teeth. He is pretty much done with bottles and doing great on regular milk. He is such a little character and we can not imagine our lives without him.
