meet and greet

Jake starts school 4 year-old preschool next Wednesday! Today was there meet and greet. This year Jake has Miss Barbara for his teacher, I'm so happy he has her. I think he is going to have a great year. They mixed the kids up alot this year but he still have several friends in his class along with his new buddy Austin. Today was not even the first day of school but Jake had got his first homework assignment! I guess they are waisting no time. We also received our first book order, glad they are waisting now time with that.

just beachy

After Greenfield Village we meet up with Melissa and Owen at the Wing Lake. It's sad to think that our beach days are winding down for the summer. Spending time at the beach is all of our favorite activity, hands down.

greenfield village

It is hard to believe that this is the last full week of summer vacation for Jake. We have been keeping busy this week trying to get in as many activities as we can. Tuesday we headed to Greenfield Village, we have not been there in a while and Jake was excited to go back and ride the train and cars. Nathan was not so sure of the merry-go-round at the beginning of the summer now loves it.

the shoe incident

Nathan has shoe issues, he just does not like them. Does not matter what kind of shoes he can get them off in no time. It turns in to a game especially when he is in the stroller or a cart. We must have spent 30 minutes earlier in the week retracing our steps to find an elusive sandal and Somerset, and well at Michigan's Adventure it was taken to the next level. While looking out in to a lake Nathan kicked his Croc in. Great, luckily Crocs float and I was able to have someone fish it out of the lake.

michigan adventure

We took the boys to Michigan's Adventure Amusement Park in Muskegon on Friday. This is such a great amusement for young kids. There were tons of rides and a great water park. We were there when the park opened and spent the morning going on the rides. After lunch we hit the water park. I had to lock my camera in a locker so sadly I do not have many pictures from the afternoon. But I wanted to participate and not just take pictures. Both boys loved the lazy river I think the 4 of us floated for close to an hour. Jake also loved the wave pool. Nathan however continues to hate the life jacket, but managed to smile in the kiddy pools. We already planing on going back next summer.

walnut lake

We meet up with Sara, Ian and Macy to go out on the boat on Walnut Lake. We picked up pizza and ate at the beach and let the kids play in the water and playground for a while. Jake loved be able to drive to boat, his goal was to get everyone as wet a possible. I think he had a smile on his face the entire time. Nathan however was not a fan, I was worried that he would not want to sit on my lap, well that was not a problem he clung to David and I. He hated the life jacket so he screamed, then I do not think he liked getting splashed or the wind in his face so he screamed so more. He could not be back on solids ground fast enough. He did finally stop screaming the last ten minutes but was far from happy. We still managed to have a great time even though Nathan viewed the boat at torture. Hopefully next time he will be better, because Jake is already asking to go back again. Hint, Hint Sara:)

last few from Hillel camp

It's hard to believe that camp at Hillel is over for the summer. Where have the last 8 weeks gone? Jake had a great summer at Hillel, here are the last of the camp pictures. Next week Jake is going to mother goose camp and then the following week it's dessert camp. Both of these weeks are at Bingham Farms, where I went to elementry school.
