Birthday season is in full swing around here! Satruday we headed to Enzo's 5th birthday party at Centruy Bowl. His party had an Angry Birds Theme. My kids were not into Angry Birds before, but let me tell you they are now.

Aunt Kristin was back in town for a quick visit this weekend. The boys are always excited to spend time with her. Jake introduced Kristin to his new obsession of hexbugs.

We were excited to check out Detroit Kid City Friday morning.  It is new place that just opened about a month ago. I have had several friends tell me how great it was. It is set up a mini city there was a bank, barber shop, grocery store, music store, pizzeria, school house and post office just to name a few. Nathan favorites no surprise here was making his own pizza and doing his own grocery shopping.  It was a great morning with friends. We can't wait to go back soon.

We headed to Chuck E Cheese for dinner and fun on Jake's real birthday. It was the perfect way to end a day all about Jake.

Last night was Jake's soccer practice, it was total chaos. Luckily Jake had fun even though there was not much soccer going on. Hopefully by next week the coaches have a better handle on things.

Clothing size - 5t or x-small in pants and tops no longer shopping in the baby section. He is going thru a phase right now where he will not wear jeans.

Schedule:
Naps: Has been done officially napping for over a year but still has quiet time on the couch and will frequently fall asleep in the car around 3. 
Bedtime: Bath is still around 7pm. He usually watches a few minutes of TV before books. Depending on who puts him to bed we are usually out of his room by 8-8:15.
Wake: He rarely sleeps past 7:15am.  He knows he can not call for us until 7.

- He loves building legos with daddy.
- He is great at working on puzzles.
- Has finally mastered writing his name and can pretty much write all of his letters now by himself.
- Can count to 100 and beyond.
- He has being doing Kumon more regularly since the fist of the year and we are really seeing big improvements. 
- Loves Tic Tac Toe.
- Getting more and more independent
- He never stops talking!!

birthday morning

Jake was a little confused when he woke up to a room full of balloons. He actually told me he was tired and wanted to go back to sleep!! That did not last more than 5 minutes and he was ready to get his birthday started!! Nathan loved the balloons more than Jake. Jake was thinking to much about how they got in his room. He asked if the balloon fairy brought them? He made my life very simple and requested fruit loops for breakfast. Nathan and I made muffins at his cooking class yesterday so we put the 5 candle in that. We let him open the presents from us, so far the biggest hit is a remote controlled spider.

This is the first year that Jake's real birthday feel on a school day. My parents and I brought in a special birthday treat. Jake requested pudding cups and then I was given the idea to make dirt cups (add crushed oreos and today it was jelly beans) to the pudding. Nathan's class was able to join in on the celebration too! When Jake gets from school at 12:30 the day of celebrating will continue!!

This year Jake's 5th birthday party was at Domino's Farms. We could not have picked a more perfect place, Jake was in his element. The weather was chilly, I never though we would go to his birthday party in winter jackets. We passed out cowboy hats to all the kids, which was a huge hit. All the kids then got carrots to feed to the animals then the kids were able to go on a pony ride and explore the farm. Pretty much everyone then went on a hayride followed by lunch and cake. It was a great day, Jake is so lucky to have such great friends anf family to celebrate with him.  Nathan even seemed to conqure his fear and really enjoyed the pony ride.
